MEMBER MEETING HELD 4/01/2003
Meeting held at The Tap Room 7:30 pm


Members Present:

Meggan Frazee called the meeting to order at 7:30pm.
March minutes were voted on and passed.
50/50 was started.
The following Officer’s Report’s were given:

President: Greg Serensits
JBSA is still in motion. LVJBS Attorney, Jay Brice and Greg are continuously working on the official aspect of national chapter formation.
Area 51 SoundTest 3-D is 10 days away.

Vice-President: Louie Kimbrough
All efforts are currently targeted towards the SoundTest. All our ducks are in a row and we are ready.

Treasurer: Dan Rutgotzke
The current LVJBS balance in the bank was reported.
The dollar amount that has been spent on the festival so far was also reported.
Dan urged people to pay annual membership.

Secretary: Meggan Frazee
Please recycle the minutes and agenda from each meeting. Bring them home and recycle please!

Mayor: Erik Vraa
This festival is going to be over the top!!
Please contribute to the 50/50
Erik also explained “Lunch with the Mayor” Louie will be making tacos.

The following Committee Reports were made:

Membership Committee: Meggan Frazee
The annual membership special was again announced.
Members were thanked for all their support. Interested people can become annual members up until the time of the festival.

Marketing Committee: Louie Kimbrough
Thank you George for putting the money up for the article that was placed in the Mercury.
The winner of the moe. trip to the SoundTest giveaway is Lindsay Greenberg (no connection to Suzy). She is from Santa Barbara and is extremely excited.
Let’s do lots o flyerin’ this weekend folks! Flyer…Flyer…Flyer…
Personal ads can be taken out in the festival program. The prices are as follows:
$25.00 ¼ page $50.00 ½ page $75.00 ¾ page $100.00 full
225 tickets have been sold thus far through UNLV Ticketing.
428 was the total attendance last year.

Fundraising Committee: Gerard Vacio
LVJBS can always accept donations.
There will be a raffle each day at the festival.
Gorilla marketing efforts…Please call your local weatherperson to ask what the weather will be in Indian Springs for the festival. Let’s create a buzz.

Volunteer Committee: Andy Greenberg (I think this is Suzy’s cousin)
Please see Andy at the end of the meeting to sign up for work shifts at the festival.
There will two different types of posts to sign up for…revenue posts and security posts. All volunteers will be shifted in 2 hour slots.

Production Committee: George Lyons
Uberschall will not be able to play the festival….April Fools!!
All is well. Everything is in line for the festival, no worries.

By-Laws Committee: Jay Brice
The IRS 1023 application is filed.
A round of applause was given to Jay for all of his hard work on the by-law revisions.
All of the major revisions are complete. A procedure for the removal of officers and/or executive board members is currently being drafted and will be a revision in the very near future. There will also be ad-hoc changes and impeachment procedure additions.

Mischief Committee: Andy Greenberg
Turn your attention towards the moe. cow. There it is, in all it’s glory!! This cow is the LVJBS gift to moe. There will be a parade before the first moe. set at which point the cow will be sacrificed to the band. Thanks a million R.J. and Stacy for the cow.
All who are interested in being in the parade, please get your funkiest funk outfit going and join us.

The floor was opened and the following announcements were made:

Goerge…KUNV is having the bi-annual fundraiser this weekend. Please be supportive and call with your donation.
D.J. Shoe advocated the radio station.
A vote was made and passed…a group hug for healing will occur at the festival. The lovely Jamie will organize and run the hug.
There are 4 single rooms available in the hotel for the festival. All annual members will be placed in a raffle to win the rooms. The raffle will be Friday, April 4, 2003. You must pay your member dues to be eligible.
The Area 51 SoundTest 3-D casino chip will be available during the festival in the casino. It is a $5.00 chip.
