*All the nominees were either spoken to at the last meeting or have ok’d the nomination via telephone. The voting begins tonight.
*The Black Crowes show was a great one. Thanks to the House of Blues for trading us tickets for website posting and email blasts. It “pays” to be a member!
*Greg to ask the Hard Rock’s Wasted Space if we can trade some tickets for advertising for the upcoming GALACTIC show, Sunday, March 7th. More info TBA.

Vice President’s Report (Ian):
2009 was a good year! Despite the country’s “Economic” woes, we still have cash in the bank! We planned great shows & Phish, SCI, & The Dead reunited! J

Secretary’s Report (Jessica):
Thanks for another great year! Thanks to all those volunteers that help out at shows! I will be honored to be the LVJBS’ Secretary for 2010 & continue with my goal in posting the meeting’s minutes within 48 hours of the meeting so all who couldn’t make it can read about it. J
Treasurer’s Report (Dan):
No esta L
Greg: There is money in the bank! Overall, after it’s all “said & done”, we only lost about $800 for the year. (Comes to about a $60 loss per show). Not bad! J

Upcoming Shows:
12/31—FRI. New Years’ Eve show w/ MOKSHA @ The E-String (3-sets beginning @ 9:30PM….Doors open @ 8:30PM. Set 1: 9:30-11:00, Set 2: 11:30-1:00 w/ champagne toast, & Set 3: unsure of time.
1/23—SAT. JGB (Jerry Garcia Band) (This will be the LVJBS’ 10th Anniversary show!) @ The Hard Rock Café.
--group thought Moksha may be a great opener for a 45-minute set. This way, the organ can be left on stage and possibly used by both. More info TBD.
2/6—FRI. GARAJ MAHAL—if ‘NOISE’ wants to work with us for their First Friday Aruba event, then we could use the Aruba for a $15 ticket. If not, we can move it to the E-String for a $20 ticket. We will need about 166 people to break even. The majority of the group voted E-String. More info TBD.
2/25—THURS. EOTO (Michael Travis’ from SCI’)-The majority voted YES for this, even though it’s a weekday show. More info TBA.
2/28—SAT. moe. @ The Hard Rock Café.
Interests:
Cubensis: Still looking for a Saturday in early March @ The Aruba. Unsure of the expenses. Group voted “okay!” More info TBD.
Montana Slim String Band: Interested in March 6th. Last time they played for a ‘split” of the door. Group decided to “table” this show, depending on Cubensis’ decision.
**Someone mentioned maybe teaming up with the local Bluegrass Society for bluegrass shows. Greg said we had contacted them previously and think they have a “different” crowd.
Hot Buttered Rum String Band & Cornmeal (Interested in March 24-28th). Group thinks this is a great idea. More info TBA.
Hi8us (from Boston) are looking at May 6th or 7th. Group says let’s hold off for Spring booking since we have a plethora of upcoming Winter shows to focus on. More info TBD.

**We discussed the ticket price of the NYE show and finalized times for the poster to be made. Welcome, Pete! (owner of the E-String) Thoughts were to possibly have a buffet for ease of food distribution, a champagne toast, drink specials, a beer sponsor, and doors/set times.
After MUCH discussion, the group found it best to have ONE price option (this including entrance & a champagne toast @ midnight). All food and drinks will be paid through the bar, as needed.
*Julie B. mentioned a possible Karaoke in between sets on the front patio. The group was in favor of this idea. Pete (E-String) introduced us to his inexpensive Karaoke guy, John ($100).
*Ballots for the 2010 Election were handed out & tallied. Greg will email the members who were not present at the meeting, to vote for their choice of 2010 Officers.
OPEN FLOOR
*Welcome to Lisa (NOISE). December 11th is Lisa’s Birthday. She invited the group to join her & her friends at ACES & EIGHTS Bar oat 310 S. Decatur for her celebration. SHUFFLEFOOT & MEDUSA TANGO will be playing, beginning @ 10PM.
*Jimmy brought up that Delta Nove is available on 2/12/09.
*Real big thanks to Paige & John for volunteering at our last show. John was in a lot of pain and made it to the show JUST to volunteer their door spot. Thanks for being SO great! J
*Ericka thanked the 2009 Officers for all that “they” did for the LVJBS this past year! J
Meeting Adjourned @ 9:30.
