good numbers (RRE=300 & moe.=680)

Interests/Emails:
*VERNELL BROWN (Soulful, funky, Jazz musician &
LVJBS friend) looking to play gigs around town.
If anyone knows of any places for Vernell to play,
contact Greg. He is putting together a ‘trio’
with Chris Hermes & Joe Thomasula. (Greg to
talk with Pete from the E-String). **Neela mentioned
‘YULI’, a Jazz musician that plays every
2nd Monday @ The E-String ($10)
*Email RE: Mike Clark, Paul Jackson, Pee-Wee Ellis,
& Vernell Brown collaboration and a possible
Fall tour.
*Email from THE WERKS & ZOOGMA (interested in
March 23, 24). Greg to contact them regarding a
possible Dumpstaphunk opening slot (7:00-7:45).
*’THAT 1 GUY looking to play April 23 or 24.
Greg to contact and see what type of set He plans
to play? How long of a set? Opener? Or, as a headliner?
*THE HEAVY GUILT inquired about playing March or
April. There wasn’t much group response, so
Greg will contact him, letting him know of our busy
Spring/upcoming shows & to have them contact
us at a later time. More info TBA.
*CUBENSIS with The Roy Jay Band tour is now postponed
until June. More info TBA.
*DEAD WINTER CARPENTERS were interested in Sat.,
March 5th. Greg had sent them Jeff Trower’s
(JFree/NOISE) way for a possible March First Friday
event. Unsure what progress what made. (Now, it
conflicts with the Moksha/Black Beans & Hippy
Liver show).
*Stacey received an email from www.butterflyspirit.org
for a Peace-Project. Greg to contact them and find
out ‘why’ they need additional, personal
information from us before getting involved. More
info TBA.
*Greg received an email from Pete Phimphogong, who
is apparently looking to become Non-Profit ‘501c3’
status, like the LVJBS is. He had asked many non-profit,
501c3 questions and asked for suggestions. Greg
to look into this further and see if another email
is sent our way again before replying with any more
information.
*Neela mentioned GUITAR SHORTY (Jimi Hendrix’s
bro-in-law) playing this Thursday @ Boulder Station,
inside The Railhead for $5.
*Mike F. spoke about having an afternoon into the
evening mini-Jam Band festival. Greg mentioned the
past ‘Neon Reverb’ event that wasn’t
too successful & invited Mike to take the reins
on this one…..
*Welcome, Steve! (from the Pickadillos). He has
a marketing and web developing ‘day job’.
He has been involved with the renovation of a new
venue/bar/motel/strip mall on Boulder Highway (@
Sunset). Steve is trying to bring the musician’s
perspective to this venue and the booking of it.
He wants to focus on mini-music festivals (afternoon
through evening). The venue ‘MUGSHOTS’
currently has a band playing the last Saturday of
each month, a Karaoke night, and a DJ night. It
also has a 20 room, motel adjacent to the venue.
(JAMSTAIN from L.A. will be there, next Thursday,
Feb. 10th) Greg to send The Dead Winter Carpenters’
connection to Steve for a possible future show.
(The venue has a small inside area, but a courtyard
and ½ acre fenced-in outdoor area.)
*Greg & Dan will be attending a ‘Tax-Exempt
Organization’ workshop. This one-day seminar
will take place at Palace Station in late March.
They will learn the to-do’s and the not to-do’s
involved in the 501c3 non-profit status.
*FISHBONE & REBELUTION free-tickets from House
of Blues will be complimentary to LVJBS members.
Look for an email from Greg regarding the ticket
request. Paid members can reply, whether or not
they would like a ticket. If there are more requests
than had tickets, they will be raffled off for fairness.
(The Fishbone tickets will be a will-call distribution
& The Rebelution tickets will be paper tickets--FYI)
