President’s Report (Greg): “Umm…Let’s get this started. We have a BUSY January through March of music!”

2010 Election results are in.

Secretary’s Report (Jessica):
Thanks
to those who have volunteered for the NYE show.
It was difficult gathering the helpers.
The volunteers are usually the SAME people. It has been discussed by a few of us that if
incentives were given (either discounts or free
entrance to shows—depending on the amount of
hours worked), that more helpers would come
forth.
**Andy
G. used to hand-out “Jam-Bucks” to volunteers
in past years. In fact, at Festival 8, Andy had some extra
“Jam-Bucks” that He handed to some members for
fun!
The
group discussed discounting the entrance fees
to the LVJBS shows for those volunteering
an hour or more.
Depending on the show and the price,
the discount would be decided. Also, since many of our “comps” that are given
to HR or HOB shows aren’t always requested
by members, many of the extras can be dispersed
to those who have volunteered door time. (I will be keeping a record of volunteers’ hours
to help ease the distribution.)
Treasurer’s Report (Dan):
We
got $ in the bank!
Looks like we lost an estimated $1,288
throughout the 2009 year! Not bad for the amount
of shows we promoted.
Chicago
AfroBeat Project—lost $147.68.
Lubrophonic-
lost $983.48.
New
Year’s Eve show-lost approx: $1,295.
PAY YOUR DUES FOR 2010!!!! Dues: $100 per person or $150 for (live
together) couple, if
paid before March’s Member meeting.

Interests:
Dark Star Orchestra: Monday,
April 26th. When they played the Hard Rock last year, we
lost nearly $600.
Yet, we helped out a new venue by collaborating
with them. If
the upcoming show turns out to be successful,
we may get reimbursed from the HRC.
The group realizes they are a good ‘partner’
to the LVJBS and we all benefit…… As for having
DSO again in April….the group says they are
willing to “take a hit” for DSO.
Hot Buttered Rum String Band & Cornmeal: They contacted us because they are on a SW area
tour. Group
said to table this for now, due to our calendar
of upcoming events.
Montana Slim String Band: Interested in SAT. 4/17. (This is 2 weeks prior to DSO’s date). Group mentioned perhaps having them on Tues.
4/20? The
group was unsure, so Greg will email the Yahoo!
Group for more response.
Hi8us: Interested in Friday, May 7th. They played the Aruba once (a somewhat ‘private’ show for Karen,
Ericka, Stella, Roland, & the Bartenders
who said they were ‘off the hook!”)

REVERB has asked for our involvement again this
year. Because
of “issues” with past involvement (“Dude, Sorry,
Hey”), those interested may help on their own.
*Feb. 5th is TOM’s Birthday. Sandy is hoping to have a dinner/pre-DELTA NOVE
party to celebrate!

having 10th Anniversary T-Shirts created. Possibly having a list of the LVJBS presents
bands listed on the back side.
(Neela had a request for “Sexy” shirts

will post a request for a graphic artist to
create the logo, etc. The winner will get nipple holes in their shirt!

*Rob Shooter plans on making some “Instant-Live-DVD’s”
for upcoming shows.

*Finkel sent a Cannabispalooza
email. If the group is interested in being a part of

It being close to the Galactic date,
is the concern.
*10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY PARTY…..JANUARY 23rd….
Greg
emailed the past members and Officers (the ones
who have since moved out of state, etc.) to
invite them.
The group decided to FLY the founders:
Rudy & Linda Jalio in for the celebration! Also, we will have FREE tickets for past &
future Presidents.
We will also have a THANK YOU announcement
made w/ a token of appreciation (Roland is on
that task!)
--We
will have a TABLE set up at this event.
The table will have a Clipboard for those
interested in more LVJBS information, some flyers
for upcoming shows, candy bowl, and some archived
posters displayed. (We will contact the Archive
committee to help with this!)
*STAMP—We will soon have a LOGO-made stamp for DOOR. It will have out LVJBS logo on it. Greg will take care of this!
*Business Cards—We are looking for a company to help out with
getting cards made for the Officers.
Any info greatly appreciated.
*Advertising: We will have a ˝ page ad in the CITY LIFE and a Ľ page ad in the NEON for the upcoming JGB & moe. shows.
