kinda.”
President’s Report: (Greg)
There are presale tickets available for our upcoming
shows. There are also fliers available. Other
than that, 2011 is off to a good start. We have
a new venue (LV Country Saloon) to work with.
There is new ‘blood’ in the Officer’s
Line-up….. (Jimmy chimes in with, “Good,
I had started to get tired of Roland anyways.”)

Be sure to buy your T-shirt and any posters you
may have passed up.

Color: ‘JAMuary White’ (for our recent
LV snowfall)
The upcoming HRCafe shows will have a Membership
table and will need volunteers to help out during
the show. There will be T-Shirts & posters
for sale. Look for an email sent to the Yahoo!
Group to volunteer for a time slot. Thanks! J
Production Report: (Greg)
January LVJBS confirmed shows:
MOKSHA: Saturday, Jan. 15th @ The HRCafe.
RAILROAD EARTH & GREAT AMERICAN TAXI: Tuesday,
Jan. 25th @ HRCafe.
moe.: Saturday, January 29th @ HRCafe.
GALACTIC: Sunday, April 3rd @ HRCafe.
UPCOMING (non-LVJBS) EVENTS:
REBELUTION w/ Giant Panda, Guerilla Dub Squad
& Orgone @ the House of Blues. The members
were given 30 free tickets in exchange for advertising
on our website. The tickets will be given out
in a lottery if more than 30 members request one.
Greg will send an email out soon, regarding this.
WHICH ONE’S PINK (a Pink Floyd tribute band)
will be at the LV Hilton on January 21 & 22.
Greg received an email from Dan Johnson (Don’s
brother?) from the LV Hilton, requesting some
fan-attendance. Greg replied mentioning the comp’d
tickets usually given when the LVJBS helps with
advertising and that we would love a ‘discounted’
rate, if not. More info regarding tickets TBA.
INTERESTED BANDS and/or UPDATES:
CUBENSIS is interested in Tuesday, March 29th.
We will offer them the weeknight “Keep the
door” deal.
DELTA NOVE & MOKSHA (our annual Mardi Gras
event)—Saturday, March 5th. Discussion was
held with J-Free (NOISE) regarding whether or
not NOISE and the LVJBS want to collaborate or
just support the show. If we all collaborate,
we will split the door, as a 40% (band)/40% (band)/10%
(LVJBS) & 10% (NOISE). This will be at the
LV Country Saloon. More info TBA.
DEAD WINTER CARPENTERS are interested in Saturday,
March 5th. They are from Lake Tahoe. Greg to email
them and see if they are available on Friday,
March 4th, so there is no conflict with the Mardi
Gras event. (If Friday works for them, we may
collaborate with NOISE and have them be a part
of First Friday). More info TBA.
GREENSKY BLUEGRASS wanted to play Wed. or Thurs.,
Feb. 23, 24. We offered a weeknight, split door-deal,
and they declined.
IVAN NEVILLE’S DUMPSTAFUNK wants to play
March 23 thru 28. We will send them the preferred
weekend dates of March 25 or 26. If under $2,000,
we will take on the show at the LV Country Saloon.
If $2,000-$3,000, we will hand it over to the
HRCafe. If over $3,000, we will “put ‘em
in the dumpsta!” More info TBA.
BOOTSY COLLINS & THE HOUSE OF FUNK gave us
the ‘bootsy’ and was told they play
for $7,000 and our offer was not enough.
MORSOUL (another Veg. oil tour bus band) contacted
us a few weeks ago. No one had yet listened to
them (due to their McCloskey Brothers bio). We’re
asking the members to listen to them ASAP and
let Greg know YAY or NAY on whether or not to
schedule them in, Late February. MORE INFO TBA.
PAPA GROWS FUNK wanted a guarantee, not the 80/20
split we suggested for the week of Jan. 24-28.
OPEN FLOOR:
Posters: Discussion was held about getting ‘Jay
Michael’ posters for moe. OR the Railroad
Earth/Great American Taxi shows. The concerns
were the LEFTOVERS we always have, the money we
have lost on past posters, etc. Because the shipping
ends up costing a lot, Jimmy suggested getting
the artwork sent to us, bringing the CD to a printer,
and saving money that way. The next questions
were: Who would take care of arranging that? Who
would get them printed?
Ian: The Rumor hotel is teaming up with the CHAMPS
convention, Feb. 15-17. There will be some after
the convention-shows (Moksha ‘rumored’
to be playing on February 15th—my B-day!
J) RUMOR is looking to have 140 rooms reserved
and a $7,500/night bar/food minimum and a ‘wristband’
price for the music. The concerns are it being
a ‘security’ nightmare because of
the ‘open-areas’ and the side gates,
with people sneaking in and going to rented rooms/balconies
to watch the music (without paying). More details
to be discussed later with the venue and the CHAMPS
people.
