President’s Report (Greg): Nominations for 2010 Officers will be soon! Then, in December, the emails will be sent and voting will occur.
*Anyone can nominate. Yet, only PAID, updated members can vote.
*There is a nomination committee which verifies the nominees, so no one from the “outside” can nominate, then take our funds, etc.
Upcoming News: January 3rd, 2010 marks the 10th anniversary of LVJBS’ first meeting @ Legend’s Lounge with Erik Kabik, as President.
UPCOMING SHOWS:
Sunday, Otober 11th: DARK STAR ORCHESTRA @ The new HARD ROCK CAFÉ.
Friday, November 13th: CHICAGO AFROBEAT PROJECT @ The E-String.
**The NEW Hard Rock Café’s Special Events Manager, Andrew Cortney, wants the LVJBS to make their home at this venue. He made the initial contact, made the offer, & then contacted us for the DSO show. Because we want to make a GREAT, first impression, PLEASE get your friends to attend this show and spend money at the bar.
Vice President’s Report (Ian): Nothing new….
Secretary’s Report (Jessica): It has been suggested to omit the $ values on future posted minutes to avoid any “issues” with bands or agents, etc.
Keep the volunteering coming my way! It’s been a great help! J
Mayor’s Report (Skip): Color: Deep Purple (for Mr. Pres’ Vikings)
Treasurer’s Report (Dan): We have some $. We lost under a grand (thanks to Mr. Lyons’ donation—which was contributed to our last show. It was even attempted to be ‘archived’.
We have lost some $ for 11 shows, thus far in 2009. (Averages to about $60 a show, lost).
Committee Reports:
Archive: A nice, half-page Ad for DSO was in this week’s LV Weekly. It will soon be added.
Production Report (Greg):
· TRACORUM (from SF) They played High Sierra. Looking to play Nov. 6 or 7, or available throughout the Fall. **group suggested to “table” them until Winter (January/February) .
· GARAJ MAHAL. They would require a guarantee and rooms. Not guaranteed on dates. Possible NYE show.
· MOONALICE &/or JGB w/ Melvin Seals: Looking @ Feb.-April 2010. Greg to contact regarding a possible 10th Anniversary show (possibly at the HR Café).
· JORMA KAUKONEN (Feb. 24, 25) We will check with the HRC for promoting this show.
· HARMONIOUS JUNK (w/ Damon Wood): Looking for a Dec. weekend. Possible LVJBS Holiday party @ The E-String?

moe. is unavailable for NYE, but may be available for Feb. 24-28, 2010.
We will send the offer for Feb. 26 or 27th & see if the HR Café will promote this show as well. (It was asked if we could “split” the expenses with the HRC.) Because we are non-profit, we cannot “share” expenses. We can either pay the bands, pay for rooms with the HRC taking care of the advertising. It is less risky for us if the HRC pays the expenses.

OPEN FLOOR:
*An email was sent by The Aruba, stating that all future booking of the Rear room will have a $200 fee.
*LVJBS New Years’ Eve plans……Asking members to start looking at bands’ availability & send interests to the Yahoo! Group.
*Tour TV-Online: Frobi met William Johnson (producer-manager) for a live, streaming webcast site. This is a FREE site with the purpose to “take viewers behind the scene.” It is free PR for us. The managers of the bands will get DVD for their use. (We would need DSO’s & the HRC’s approval in order to begin this Sunday.)
*PHISH 8-plans…..Trying to gather names/days of who/when people are arrival, so those who want to caravan inside the gates to camp together (LVJBS camp? Banners?) can do so. About 10-12 people are arriving when the camping fields open (Thursday @ noon), About 3 or 4 people stated they were arriving on Thursday evening. (There may be someone on “the inside” who can section off an area for the LVJBS). EMAIL THE YAHOO! GROUP WHEN YOUR CARAVAN OF PHREAKS plan on arriving!!! More details to follow…..
*The Porch Light Grill (Durango & D.I.) has ½ priced food & drinks on Tuesdays. 8416 West Desert Inn (VONS shopping center) **THIS WILL BE NOVEMBER’S MEETING LOCATION!!!* *
*Look for email sent by Roland for a Drunken Bocce Ball event. J
*Roland mentioned a possible LVJBS/Valley of Fire camping event. They give group discounts. Group liked this idea!
*HARD ROCK CAFÉ PARKING: You can park at the SHOWCASE MALL for $5. You can also park across the street at the Monte Carlo and walk across.
*LOGO COLOR CHANGES?: Any graphic design artist can submit their suggestions for the Officers and Members to vote on.
*December 6-8 @ Planet Ho (International Music Conference). $495 to attend. We’re thinking about having a local band showcase (after the conference) at the HR Café. Are local bands interested? THOUGHTS: Wouldn’t be able to advertise HR Café shows at Planet Ho. Do we want to spend money on a table at this event? What good would it do for us?
