LAS VEGAS JAM BAND SOCIETY
Members Meeting Minutes
March 3, 2015

Meeting Begins: 7:37PM
'We'll go ahead and start'¦'

President's Report (Greg):
*Our last show, The New Mastersounds at the Hard Rock Live was a good time, but a loss for both us, and the Hard Rock Live. The LVJBS lost about $1k. The good news is that after discussion with the band, they really appreciated the crowd and mentioned it being as some of the best energy in the room, in comparison to the other nights played thus far this current tour.

*The current membership site, WILD APRICOT seems to be going well. It's going to take some time and learning to make it the most beneficial. Suggestion: READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. **Members Please Note: If your email address is no current, there will be no contact from the auto-site-messages.

*The Brooklyn Bowl has continued to be cooperative with the complimentary tickets for advertising on our site. We are grateful. Be sure to support this great addition to our city.

Vice President's Report (Kathy):
*There have been some emails sent amongst the Officers and Committee Heads, in regards to some lack of email communication on the Yahoo!Group and whether or not to keep it going since the new site and Facebook are being used, as well.

(Our webmaster has been off-duty, keeping the website from being easily updated with the monthly members meeting minutes' and the auto-reminders for the upcoming meetings. Thanks to Stacey for the fill-in help. Thanks to everyone for your patience with the incorrect location/times that may have been read. We will work to correct these problems in the future!)

(Greg to send emails to better guesstimate which sites are most commonly used for information and to see if we can easily remove the Yahoo!Group system (potential date: June 1st) and keep with the Facebook posts and the Wild Apricot Site only.) More info TBD.

Secretarys Report (Jessica):
Thanks to those who supported last month's SWEET TOMATOES Friends & Family event. *The next one will be at the APPLEBEES on Lake Mead and Rainbow. (Our LVJBS Sister, Sheila, works at this location, and throughout the date of TUESDAY, MARCH 24th, any visit (to-go OR dine-in) with the provided flier, will get the LVJBS 15% of proceeds back!*)

Treasurer's Report (Paige):
So far, we have 76 paid Members for 2015.
We will continue to renew our virtual adoption for the Lone Woof Rescue and for Amp-Medic.
Two stamps with the LVJBS website to stamp for easy-visual on our LVJBS business cards came in.

(Discussion of whether or not the website is current or how it is kept updated.)

Mayor's Report (Frobi (absent) via Jessica):
COLOR: Clear like a Jellyfish

COMMITTEE REPORTS:

Fundraising Committee (Kathy):
We held a 50/50 at the last show. There were a few posters from older shows sold. Had some interested table-visitors.

The CELLO was brought over to Swainston MS and Dr. Nunez, the Director was very appreciative.
The donated electric guitar from Jenny M. may have some worth. Thoughts to either E-Bay sell it to purchase either school-donation instruments or guitars/drumheads, to be autographed, for LVJBS raffles. (Megan volunteered Dave to research the guitar. More info TBD.)

Archive Committee (RJ): absent
PR Committee (Jenny): absent

PRODUCTION REPORT (GREG):

*RELIX Volunteers at the last show were a success and did a great job for the SCI weekend. Thanks for helping out! (They are once again looking for VOLUNTEERS for the Umphrey's McGee shows'2 Fri., 2 Sat. PM, and 2 Sat. Eve.) The spots will first be offered to the LVJBS Members and if no luck in securing the helpers, we will advertise it for all to see. (Contact Greg for details.)

*15th Anniversary T-shirt colors/fabric samples shown. Members to give their input on the shirt color and a 'contest' of sorts for the 15 year logo will be had soon!
Group discussed having an ad in RELIX magazine to celebrate our #15 and to support the magazine. We may correlate this with a 15 year 'who are we' magazine write-up. More details TBD.

*A 15th Anniversary Party was discussed. Ideas: Brooklyn Bowl Bowling party and music. We would invite past members who have since left Las Vegas to join us. No set dates.

*Kurt & Jen shared an upcoming event at LVCS (Las Vegas Country Saloon) Sunday, April 19th with Moksha, The Signals, Lady Reiko, and Bourbon Bros. LVJBS Members are offered $10 tickets. (Tickets available at the 3-14 Scott Pemberton show via Kurt).

*Future meeting locations will be posted to the Facebook page for ease and convenience, prior to the meetings. The Minutes will be continued to be sent to the Yahoo!Group and to the website for now.

*Hoping more Members take part in our upcoming FRIENDS & FAMILY events, so it's not the SAME people organizing and getting 'burnt out' doing so. Thinking MAY 'may' be a good time for a VALLEY OF FIRE camp-out for the Friends & Family to get together and be social.
---The MARCH event is TUESDAY, MARCH 24th at the APPLEBEE'S on N. Rainbow/Lake Mead. The offer is good throughout the day for convenience/lunch ease, but the Members are looking at meeting between 5pm-8pm, to gather as a group, socially, with families & friends. (Get a flier from any Officer or look for it to be posted to our Facebook page/invite to be made'¦'¦)

APRIL FRIENDS & FAMILY EVENT: Megan & Reagan shared the idea of participating in the 25th Anniversary of AFAN: Aids walk on SATURDAY, APRIL 19th.
